CBER - Centre for Biodiversity and Ecology Research
The Centre for
Biodiversity and Ecology Research was established in 1999. Its aim
is to facilitate an integrated approach to research in to biodiversity
and ecology, to provide consultancy and advocacy services, and to educate.
Honey Research Unit
The Honey Research Unit was set
up in 1995, with financial support from the New Zealand Honey Industry
Trust, in recognition of the expertise at The University of Waikato in
the composition of honey and its antimicrobial activity.
Thermophile & Microbial Biochemistry & Biotechnology
Unit
The Thermophile & Microbial Biochemistry & Biotechnology Unit is involved in research projects concerning the ecology, biochemistry and applications of extremely thermophilic bacteria.
Waikato DNA Sequencing Facility
The Waikato DNA Sequencing Facility
is part of the Department of Biological Sciences, The University
of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand. Currently the staff involved
in the operation and maintenance of an are John Longmore, with
the assistance of Arvina Ram. The Director of the Facility
is Professor Hugh Morgan.
Waikato Stable Isotope Unit
The Waikato Stable Isotope Unit
(WSIU) is primarily a research unit, and has the objective of promoting
the use of stable isotopes in all branches of scientific research. The
staff of the unit are highly experienced in the use of stable isotopes
as tracers, particularly in biological and environmental research.
